The most commmon side effect is bruising. Rare documented side effects include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, erythema (redness) and/or bleeding/bruising.

Filler is made of hyaluronic acid gel that immediately volumeizes the area that it is placed. So filler produces immediate — or close to immediate — results. You can expect to have some swelling after the procedure. 

The filler disintegrates slowly over time in the deeper layers of  the skin.  Filler can last up to 9-18 months depending on the area it is placed.  Most patients come in every 6-12 months for a touch up.

There is no downtime after filler, however some bruising and swelling may occur.

After receiving lip filler your lips will be swollen for 1-3 days and it takes a full two weeks to heal from lip filler to see your final natural results.

Always plan filler treatments more than 2 weeks before an event to allow time for swelling and bruising to resolve.

• Wait until the next day to exercise or do any other strenuous activity.
• Stay out of the sun and do not use a tanning bed or other types of indoor tanning. 
• Avoid touching the treated area for three days, unless you receive instructions to massage the area.
• Swelling, redness, firmness, itching, and tenderness may be present for up to two weeks. Use of cool packs may be used as needed.
• The use of Arnica Gel (available at health food stores), may help with bruising. It is avabilable topically, as well as orally. Follow bottle instructions.
• Lumps, bumps, or irregular, asymmetrical areas may be noted, especially once swelling has subsided. It is normal to feel these lumps and bumps, however they should not be visible
